Good afternoon,
It is so hard to believe it is the last day of March! It is also hard to
believe it is spring – I know I am hoping for some more seasonal weather soon!
On Monday, we wore purple for epilepsy, and practiced our math facts during
whole school BINGO. Thursday, we had a delicious breakfast prepared by our
awesome Home and School, and celebrated our March Star Students at an assembly.
Today, some students learned about Ramadan and fasting from our student,
Mohammed, and his Mom, Karimah. As well, we are having our Friendship Friday
read aloud later this afternoon focused on “What is autism?”

Week at a Glance:
-Sunday, April 2 – Autism Awareness/World Autism Day
-Monday, April 3 – Each student will receive an Autism Awareness pin and
learn more about Autism in their classrooms.
-Please have your parent/teacher time preference into your child’s teacher.
-Thursday, April 6 – Report cards go home
-Whole school breakfast (cereal and fruit)
-Friday, April 7 – Good Friday; no school
-World Health Day

-For planning purposes, I wanted to let you know some end-of-year dates to
remember! There are more dates to come, but the following have been determined
already:
-May 12 – Spring Concert and picnic (time TBA – we will let you know ASAP)
-May 19 – Grades 3-5 to Nashwaaksis Memorial for Track and Field
-May 24 – Welcome to Kindergarten (afternoon) at NMS
-June 1 – District Track &
Field for students in grades 3-5 who place at the school level
-June 6 – Grades 3-5 to Green Hill Lake
-June 7 – Grade 5 Graduation/Celebration (morning) – details TBA
-Open House & Fun Night at Nashwaaksis Memorial 5:30-7:00pm
-June 8 – K-2 Field Day at Nashwaaksis Memorial
-June 9 – Whole school to Science East (times TBA)
-June 14 – McAdam Avenue School Reunion/Open House 1-5pm
-June 23 – Last day for students
Items to note:
-Don’t forget about our McAdam Avenue Family Library sign-out! I will get
notified if you sign up to borrow a book and will send it home with your child.
If you intend to keep the book for several weeks, please continue to sign up

-Please ensure when you are picking up your child that you meet them just on
